In 2014, the Journey started as a member of CARE – the Eco Club of Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur, supported by EMAI – Trust for Environment Monitoring and Action Initiating. We started a survey to identify areas in Chennai where the House sparrow population is still existing. Based on the survey it was found that the sparrow population is thriving in North Madras (Thiruvottiyur, Tondiarpet, Washermanpet, Royapuram etc.,) and also in pockets of Chintadripet, Triplicane, Urapakkam, T.Nagar, Velachery, Poonamallee, Perambur, ECR, Adyar, Pattinapakkam, Tambaram. Our heartfelt thanks to these schools that had helped us organise the events, giving their space and time for the events to be successful. The sponsorship provided by the school helped us in smoothly organising the events.
Nature has gifted abundant resources equally to all creatures in the universe without expecting anything in favour in return. Even so, mankind has made extensive use of such assets and in the name of SIXTHSENSE destroying the life of other Creatures. Anyhow, nature tries its best to heal them. Humans need to understand that the extinction of other Creatures will make them attain a horrible destiny. Hence, it is our duty to show gratitude towards that by saving them. If we haven’t taken any steps to save it, then at least we shouldn’t be an obstacle during their process of restoring themselves. Nature does not expect anything from us during regeneration, apart from our cooperation. In preserving the resources left with us, we need to step forward and join hands to help save our beautiful home planet by taking a pledge.
