Sometimes, meaningful initiatives begin with simple observations. During the 19th Annual Day celebration at School4Change, we had the opportunity to meet Mr. Bala Murugan, an auto driver who quietly performs an important service for the community every day. Every morning during peak school hours, he voluntarily helps clear and manage traffic in front of the school gate, ensuring that students can enter safely and smoothly. This act of responsibility and care for the community was noticed and appreciated by Harigaran Rajmohan, who honored him during the event. Inspired by his commitment, Koodugal Trust connected with Mr. Bala Murugan, and a new initiative began. With his support and permission, we started installing sparrow nest boxes in his locality. With the enthusiastic participation of students from School4Change, nest boxes were successfully installed in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Tondiarpet, Chennai – 600081. This small initiative reflects the power of community collaboration, where a responsible citizen, young students, and environmental volunteers come together to create safe spaces for sparrows and support urban biodiversity. Every small action matters. Together, we can bring nature back into our neighborhoods.

  • Purpose: To provide students with hands-on experience in corporate relationship management, budget preparation, project proposal creation, leadership development, and project presentation skills.
  • Duration: Flexible based on student availability | Provided day basis as well hour basis
  • Eligibility: Any UG/PG degree relevant to the Environmental and Mechanical studies
  • Requirements:
    1. Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
    2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    4. Excellent research and analytical skills
    5. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
    6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
    7. Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks of internship

As a key member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including video coverage of student locations where sparrows have occupied the nest boxes, short film creation, social media management, and content creation.
  • Requirements

  • Eligibility: Open to students pursuing any UG/PG degree relevant to Environmental Conservation.
  • Intern Summary:
    We are seeking a dedicated and passionate intern to join our team in conserving sparrow populations through awareness and education. The successful candidate will work closely with schools, experts, and volunteers to execute awareness programs, conduct training sessions, and monitor the project’s impact.
  • Requirements:
    1. Passion for environmental conservation and education
    2. Moderate communication and interpersonal skills
    3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
    4. Strong administrative and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Permission and Partnerships: Secure permission from schools to conduct awareness programs and establish partnerships with school administrators.
