Description

Project Implementation Journey – Sparrow Conservation at Tenkasi

Mrs. Azhagi Rajah, President of the Rotary Club, Courtallam, upon receiving a directive from her higher officials to implement meaningful community focused projects in her region, began researching potential initiatives through various sources. During her research, she came across the impactful work of Kuruvi Ganeshan and the Koodugal Trust in the field of sparrow conservation.

Intrigued by the success and relevance of the project, she immediately established contact with the Koodugal team to explore the feasibility of replicating the initiative in her own district. With her proactive approach and commitment, she began collecting vital information, resources, and guidance required to carry out the project effectively.

Recognising the importance of her interest and initiative, Koodugal assigned the Tenkasi District Coordinator, Mrs. Induja Subraj, to extend full support and coordinate the efforts locally. As a result, the project was formally initiated in Tenkasi with the active collaboration of the Rotary Club of Courtallam – Sakthi.

This collaborative effort marks a significant step towards enhancing local biodiversity and environmental awareness, reinforcing the shared mission of creating a sustainable and nature-friendly future.

Objective

–> Stressed the importance of Birds to students
–> Sparrows’ role in the Food Chain
–> By preserving Sparrow, we can improve the living standard
–> Also, the importance of Organic farming was explained by the guest
–> Hands–on training was given to students

Internship Program 5 |
Corporate Relationship management

  • Purpose: To provide students with hands-on experience in corporate relationship management, budget preparation, project proposal creation, leadership development, and project presentation skills.
  • Duration: Flexible based on student availability | Provided day basis as well hour basis
  • Eligibility: Any UG/PG degree relevant to the Environmental and Mechanical studies
  • Requirements:
    1. Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
    2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    4. Excellent research and analytical skills
    5. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
    6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
    7. Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks of internship

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and stakeholders

    5. Passion for environmental sustainability and social responsibility

  • Intern Summary:
    We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic intern to join our team at Koodugal! As a key member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including video coverage of student locations where sparrows have occupied the nest boxes, short film creation, social media management, and content creation.
  • Requirements
    1. Strong passion for storytelling and content creation
    2. Excellent video production and editing skills
    3. Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools
    4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Eligibility: Open to students pursuing any UG/PG degree relevant to Environmental Conservation.
  • Intern Summary:
    We are seeking a dedicated and passionate intern to join our team in conserving sparrow populations through awareness and education. The successful candidate will work closely with schools, experts, and volunteers to execute awareness programs, conduct training sessions, and monitor the project’s impact.
  • Requirements:
    1. Passion for environmental conservation and education
    2. Moderate communication and interpersonal skills
    3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
    4. Strong administrative and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Permission and Partnerships: Secure permission from schools to conduct awareness programs and establish partnerships with school administrators.
  2. Program Execution: Conduct awareness programs and hands-on training sessions for students within school premises.
  3. Expert Collaboration: Learn from field experts from Koodugal members to enhance knowledge about sparrow conservation.
  4. Review and Evaluation: Conduct review meetings after 3 months to assess the project’s impact and identify areas for improvement.
